Meet Dr. Acosta
Dr. Acosta was born in Ecuador, grew up in Gastonia, North Carolina, and now calls the Triangle home. She attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill for her undergraduate studies, as well as for her Master of Public Health, which she received during her medical school training at East Carolina University’s Brody School of Medicine. She then completed her residency at Duke University Medical Center, where she was honored with awards for teaching, patient care, and pelvic surgery.
Dr. Acosta is board-certified by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and a fellow of the American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology (ACOG). She is also a member of Alpha Omega Alpha.
Dr. Acosta is fluent in Spanish. She loves practicing the full spectrum of obstetrics and gynecology with a special interest in preventive care, gynecologic surgery, and access to care. She is passionate about helping improve patients’ quality of life through treatment of common gynecologic issues such as polyendocrine metabolic ovarian syndrome (formerly known as PCOS), endometriosis, and the menopause transition.
